Maia is Executive Director and Founder of the Center for Latino Leadership.

Maia has served on the Race and Ethnicity Student Data task force at the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction as part of the Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee, as Legislative Liaison to the Washington State Commission on Hispanic Affairs, and as a communications associate for the state senate 2014 Majority Coalition Caucus.

She is a mother of four children. She and her family live in Lakewood.

Meet our Program Director, who skillfully coordinates a range of impactful initiatives, from empowering individuals to self-advocate in Olympia to orchestrating large-scale school drives benefiting numerous families. Her remarkable ability to multitask ensures our team stays on track, consistently achieving our goals.

Beyond the office, she's a devoted adventurer, often found exploring with her family or casting a line while fishing. Her unwavering passion for community support shines through in everything she does, embodying our commitment to making a positive difference.

Jessica Diez
Executive Assistant

As a first-generation Mexican American, Jessica Diez has always been committed to seizing opportunities and utilizing resources that were not available to previous generations. The youngest of four siblings, Jessica places a strong emphasis on family values. She brings five years of experience in the credit union industry, along with expertise as a certified Credit Union Financial Counselor. Recently, Jessica decided to shift her focus towards advocacy, driven by a desire to secure a better future for her daughter, who represents a blend of Mexican, Peruvian, and Honduran heritage.
